A photograph that paints well
Crouch to the animal’s eye level and shoot in daylight near a window, without flash. Keep the whole face in focus, with both eyes and the nose. A black coat loses its detail in dim light, and a pale one can wash out in direct sun, so open shade is safest. Send a second picture of a side view if the markings continue along the body.
One animal or several
Animals photographed apart can be placed on one canvas. Name each one and say which sits in front. You can also add the sofa, the garden gate or the toy it carries everywhere, and say if the background should stay plain.
A portrait in remembrance
If your pet has died, send the photographs you have, even imperfect ones, and tell us which expression you remember best. Say in your request how you want the portrait to feel, calm or playful.

A painted pet is judged on small details, so ask any question before you order. If the painting does not suit you once it arrives, it can be returned for a full refund within the return period. The return shipping is paid by the customer.
