The archival canvas print shows the same image, printed rather than painted, so its surface is flat. Both versions come rolled, on a wooden stretcher, or framed.

One palm stands at the right edge of the canvas. Its dark trunk curves up and to the left, and the sage green fronds spread out against the sky. The scene evokes Phu Quoc through this lone tree, the sand and the sea, with no figures or buildings in view.
The beach fills the lower half. Its shoreline runs diagonally from the lower left towards the palm, marked by a thin white edge of foam. Beyond it the turquoise water lies flat to a straight horizon.
The brushwork is blended and gentle. The sky moves through cream, pale grey and a faint peach, and a narrow band of amber sits just above the horizon. The sand carries the same peach and grey in broad, soft patches.
Turquoise is the one cool colour of any size, so the water reads clearly against the warm neutrals. The sage of the fronds repeats nowhere else, which keeps the palm as the focal point.
The palm sits off centre and most of the canvas is left open: sky above, sand below, water between. That emptiness gives the horizontal format a restful, minimal feel.
Its pale palette suits bedrooms, bathrooms and light living areas where a calm wall is wanted. The turquoise brings a cool note to cream, white or warm grey walls.
No. The painting shows only the palm, the sand, the sea and the sky. Nothing else interrupts the shoreline, which keeps the scene quiet.
It stands on the right side, with its trunk curving to the left over the sand. Its fronds reach into the cream sky and the amber glow behind them.
Cream and pale sand tones dominate, with turquoise water and sage green fronds. A thin amber band marks the horizon.
Bedrooms, bathrooms and bright living areas suit it, because the cream and sand tones stay soft and the turquoise adds one cool note. The horizontal format also fits a wide, uncluttered wall.
