Colourful Hoi An Lantern Stall Wall Art

Orange and yellow lanterns packed above a stall

Lanterns fill almost the whole picture, hung so close that they overlap. Orange and yellow globes carry most of the warmth, while green, teal, pink and white ones break it up. Some lanterns show painted floral patterns.

Below them a figure in a dark jacket and green trousers is surrounded by woven baskets, black crates and small goods. The wet stone paving shows warm orange reflections.

Warm lantern colour for a plain wall

The orange and yellow lanterns give the picture a warm, lit mood, and the green keeps it from turning one-note. It suits a cream, soft white or pale grey wall, where the lanterns can be the only strong colour.

A dining area or a living room works well, since the crowded lanterns give the eye a lot to follow and the upright format lets them hang like a curtain of colour.

FAQ

Which colours stand out among the lanterns?

Orange and yellow lanterns dominate, with several green, teal, pink and white ones mixed in. A few red lanterns sit among them, so the warm tones never become a single flat block.

Are the patterns on the lanterns visible?

Yes, some lanterns carry painted floral patterns. They read best on the white and yellow ones, where the silk is paler and the design stands out.

What is happening on the ground below the lanterns?

Wet stone paving shows warm orange reflections. Baskets, black crates and small goods sit around the figure, giving the lower part of the picture a darker, calmer base.
