The archival canvas print shows the same image, printed rather than painted, so its surface is flat. Both versions come rolled, on a wooden stretcher, or framed.

The view runs straight along the railway track, and the rust orange steel frames repeat over it, each a little smaller, until they dissolve into a bright grey-white haze. Rivets and cross braces are picked out in lighter orange along the girders, so the metal reads as old and weathered.
Beneath the frames, the rails and sleepers lead the eye forward, with worn wooden planks on either side. Far down the track there is a small figure, easy to miss and useful for the sense of distance.
Green trees press in on both sides of the bridge, with touches of yellow where light catches the leaves. The sky is an even overcast grey-white with loose, visible brushstrokes, and the light is soft rather than sunny. Against it, the rust orange is the strongest note in the picture.
The rust orange warms a room, while the grey-white sky keeps the whole picture calm. It suits a hallway or a study with white, cream or soft grey walls, where the orange girders can stand out. The wide landscape format follows the length of the track and works well above a sofa or desk.
Only a very small figure far down the track, barely more than a mark in the haze. The picture is about the structure and the distance, not about people.
The nearest steel frame is clearly drawn, with visible rivets and cross braces. Further along, the frames soften and merge into a bright mist, which gives the track its depth.
Yes, but in small amounts. Green trees sit on both sides with a few yellow-lit leaves, and the planks beside the rails add warm brown. The sky stays a pale, even grey-white.
