The market building runs across the picture in a long cream arcade, its arches lined with blue panels. Above it rise the red-brown tiled roofs and a clock tower with a pointed top. Taller buildings stand behind in pale tones, and green potted plants sit along the base of the wall.
Motorbikes cross the street in front, their riders small and loosely painted. The brushstrokes are loose and visible, so the figures read as movement rather than detail.
The street is the most colourful part: cobalt blue, with flecks of yellow scattered through it, set against pale grey. The light is bright and sunny, with white clouds in a blue sky, and the cream walls take it warmly.
The cream arcade and terracotta red roofs warm a room, while the cobalt blue keeps the scene fresh. It suits a white or soft grey living room wall, where the blue of the paving can pick up a sofa or cushions. The wide, horizontal scene also fits above a sideboard or a desk.
Motorbikes, a few of them, with small riders in the street along the arcade. They are painted in loose strokes, with red and blue bodies that stand out against the pale paving.
Yes. It has a pointed red roof and a round clock face on a cream tower, and it rises clearly above the long roofline against the blue sky.
Some of the blue panels under the arches carry blue-toned portraits or faces, while others are plain blue. They are not detailed, but they repeat the blue of the paving and sky.
Not strictly. It is built from broad blue, grey and yellow strokes that suggest paving and light rather than exact surface, which gives the lower part of the scene its movement.
