The archival canvas print shows the same image, printed rather than painted, so its surface is flat. Both versions come rolled, on a wooden stretcher, or framed.

The train is the one cool block in a warm scene: blue and cream, with a headlight that glows white at the end of the track. Above it, rows of red flags are strung across the street, and lanterns hang from the shopfronts on one side.
Green trees arch over the track and frame the train like a doorway. The rails and the stones between them lead the eye straight to the headlight. People gather beside the track at small stools and tables, close enough to the train to show how narrow the passage is.
Red carries the picture: flags, hanging lanterns and a long red hanging garland fill much of the air, and the light coming through them is warm. The blue of the train stops that red from taking over, and the green leaves give the eye a place to rest.
On a wall, this palette suits a living room or dining area with cream, warm white or soft grey walls, where the red can stand out. The upright format fits a slim wall space, next to a door or at the end of a corridor, where the rails pull the eye toward the headlight.
A large share. Red flags fill the sky above the track and lanterns hang from the shopfronts. The train's blue and the green leaves keep the picture balanced, so it reads as warm rather than heavy.
Yes. The headlight is the lightest spot, and the cream front of the train catches light too. Everything else is slightly darker and warmer, so the eye goes to the train first.
They are painted as anonymous figures in everyday clothes, gathered along the edge of the track, with a figure holding up a phone close to the viewer. They give scale to the narrow passage and the train.
Small warm lights are strung between the trees and lanterns, glowing in yellow and orange. They are soft points of light, not sharp detail, and they echo the red of the flags.
