The story behind this artwork.

Grey stone facade framed by orange autumn leaves

The church fills the far end of the street, its stone facade painted in cool grey with tall pointed windows, a cross at the peak and a round clock face. Hanging branches frame it from above, and a tree with orange leaves reaches in beside it.

Below, the street is full of movement: a cyclo with a rider, cars along the kerb and a crowd gathered before the entrance. Fallen leaves in red, orange and blue are scattered over the road in loose, visible brushstrokes.

Stone grey and autumn orange on a quiet wall

The palette is built on stone grey and autumn orange, with an evergreen green tree adding a darker note. Warm light falls across the road and the orange leaves, while the facade stays cool.

Against a warm white or soft cream wall, the grey facade reads clearly and the orange picks up the warmth. It suits a living room or a study where you want a street scene with a calm, tall composition.

FAQ

Are the fallen leaves on the road clearly painted?

Yes. Red, orange and blue leaves are scattered across the road in loose strokes, and they bring colour to the lower part of the picture without turning into fine detail.

Does the church look sharp or soft?

The facade is drawn with enough detail to read the pointed windows, the cross and the clock face, while the stone stays in muted grey so the trees and street carry more colour.
