The archival canvas print shows the same image, printed rather than painted, so its surface is flat. Both versions come rolled, on a wooden stretcher, or framed.

The foreground belongs to the boat builder crew. On the left a man in a pale grey shirt leans on the side of the hull and lifts an axe. In the centre another bends over a heap of curved planks with a hammer in his hand. At right a barefoot man carries a long board across his body. Two more figures work behind the ribs of a second hull, and a fifth stands near the shelter post.
The thatched shelter rises at the upper right, its roof ragged and dark. A single lantern hangs from the crossbeam and gives the only orange glow in the picture. Beyond the shelter, the bay is grey green, with a small covered boat, palm trees and stilt houses fading into the rain.
The sky and water are painted in thin, vertical grey and teal strokes that read as falling rain. The wood is handled differently: the hull and plank pile are built with thicker, warmer strokes in tan, ochre and deep brown, so the work stands out from the haze.
Clothing stays muted, in grey, slate and faded green, and the conical hats are the palest shapes among the figures. The lantern is the one saturated warm accent.
The horizontal format lets the eye travel from the hull on the left, through the bending figures, to the lantern and the long plank at right. Water and mist fill the left and upper areas, leaving quiet space around the activity.
The restrained grey and teal palette with warm brown accents suits walls in white, pale grey or soft sage. It fits rooms where a calm, low-contrast picture is wanted, such as a spa, a hotel corridor or a reading room.
The man on the left raises an axe while resting his other hand on the hull. The man in the centre holds a hammer over the pile of curved planks. The man at right carries a long board rather than a tool.
The main warm light is a single lantern hanging from the crossbeam of the thatched shelter. Everything else is lit by flat grey daylight, so the lantern's orange glow is the clearest accent.
Tan, ochre and deep brown build the hull, the plank pile and the thatched roof. They stand against the grey and teal of the sky, water and distant palms, while the clothing stays slate grey and faded green.
Yes. The muted grey and teal sit well against white, pale grey or soft sage walls, and the brown planks add warmth without strong contrast. The horizontal format suits a wide wall space.
Across the grey bay a small covered boat sits on the water, with palm trees and stilt houses fading into mist. Behind the shelter a second hull with upright ribs is being worked on.
