The archival canvas print shows the same image, printed rather than painted, so its surface is flat. Both versions come rolled, on a wooden stretcher, or framed.

The Japanese Covered Bridge fills the left half of this horizontal canvas. A dark tiled roof with ornamental figures along its ridge sits above a red wooden balustrade, and the walkway ends in two pink walls, one at each side. Below, stone piers with dark arched openings stand in the water.
To the right, a low bank runs towards the distance. Yellow houses with tiled roofs and a few green trees sit along it, and a single small boat floats far out on the river. A yellow building edges into the frame at the far left.
The sky is a flat pale grey with almost no cloud detail, so the colour comes from the bridge: dusty pink, brick red and mustard yellow. The river takes these up in broken, horizontal strokes of sage green, cream and rose, and the bridge’s reflection is blocked in with short, flat touches.
The foreground water is left wide and open. Cream and grey ripples cross it in long, thin strokes, which keeps the whole scene low in contrast.
The palette is restrained: grey, sage, cream and small accents of pink and yellow. It suits walls in warm white, stone or soft grey, where the pink walls of the Japanese Covered Bridge become the one gentle colour note.
The landscape format gives the empty water room to breathe, which makes the picture a fit for a bedroom, a reading corner or a hallway where a still, unhurried image is wanted.
Both end walls are dusty pink, with a slightly lighter wash on the wall at the right. They are the strongest colour in the picture next to the yellow houses on the far bank.
Only one small boat, far out on the water to the right. No figures are visible on the bridge or the bank, so the scene stays empty and still.
The reflection is built from short, flat, horizontal strokes in grey-green, rose and cream. It stretches below the piers and loses its detail as it moves towards the open water.
Warm white, stone and soft grey walls suit it well, because they echo the pale sky and water. The wide landscape format also works in calm rooms where a quiet picture is wanted.
