The archival canvas print shows the same image, printed rather than painted, so its surface is flat. Both versions come rolled, on a wooden stretcher, or framed.

Dozens of white egrets fill the left and centre of the canvas. Some beat their wings high against the glowing sky, others stand or step through the shallow water of the paddies below. Their wings carry touches of pale yellow where the light catches them.
At lower right, a figure in a conical hat, grey shirt and dark shorts walks behind a dark water buffalo, guiding it by a rope through the wet field. The pair is the darkest mass in the picture and anchors the egret flock on the opposite side.
The paint is laid on in thick, flat knife-like strokes that leave ridges you can read from across a room. The sky moves from peach and coral near the horizon to lilac and mauve clouds higher up. The hills behind are slate blue and purple, and the terraces step down in bands of olive, moss green and ochre.
The flooded fields reflect the sunset as pink, cream and lavender patches. Dark green grass and touches of orange and yellow in the foreground frame the scene.
The eye travels from the buffalo at lower right, across the pale water, up through the flying egrets to the bright sky, then along the terraced hills. The square format keeps that circle balanced.
Its peach, sage and lilac palette suits walls in cream, soft grey or warm white, and rooms with gentle evening light, where the reflections in the water can glow.
The figure wears a conical hat, a grey shirt and dark shorts. They walk behind a dark water buffalo and hold a rope that runs to the animal, working through the shallow water of the paddy.
They gather mostly on the left and centre. Some fly against the orange sky, and others stand or wade in the reflective water below. The buffalo and figure balance them on the right.
The sky is peach, coral and orange with lilac clouds. The water repeats these tones as pink, cream and lavender reflections between green grass banks.
Yes. The peach, sage and lilac sit well against cream, warm white or soft grey, and the dark buffalo gives one strong accent that stands out on a pale wall.
