The archival canvas print shows the same image, printed rather than painted, so its surface is flat. Both versions come rolled, on a wooden stretcher, or framed.

The water buffalo is the anchor of the scene: a heavy grey body with curved horns, head lowered toward tufts of grass at the water’s edge. Its shape is reflected faintly in the shallow paddy around it.
A narrow earth path curves between the flooded fields, and a figure in a conical hat walks along it, small against the wide land. Beyond the paddies, hazy mountains fade into a pale overcast sky. The brushwork is loose and visible in the grass and the water.
The palette stays quiet: grey green in the grass and hills, pale cream in the sky and the water, and soft grey in the buffalo. The only warmer note is the sandy brown of the earth path. Nothing in it is bright, so the light reads as calm and even.
This is a good fit for a living room or bedroom with warm white, sand or soft sage walls, where the grey green and cream blend in instead of competing. The wide, open scene also suits a space where you want a restful view.
The figure is small and reads mainly as a conical hat above a dark top and trousers. It is painted simply, without facial detail, and adds scale to the wide paddies.
The water is soft and glassy, with a faint reflection of the buffalo and loose strokes of grass rising from it. Edges blur gently, so it feels still rather than rippled.
They are pale and misty, with soft outlines that fade toward the sky. They give depth without pulling attention from the buffalo.
Very little. The sandy brown path is the main warm note, and it stands out gently against the grey green fields.
