The archival canvas print shows the same image, printed rather than painted, so its surface is flat. Both versions come rolled, on a wooden stretcher, or framed.

The curving terrace ridges run across the whole picture, each one edged in amber, orange and olive green. Between them, white mist drifts through the valley and picks up slate blue and soft violet from the sky.
A cluster of dark-roofed houses sits along the highest ridge, small against the pink and gold light behind them. The brushstrokes are loose and visible, so the terraces read as bold bands of colour rather than fine detail.
The light is low and warm. Pink and gold glow behind the houses, while the hollows between the terraces fall into slate blue and deep olive. That split between a warm sky and cool mist is what holds the eye.
The amber terraces suit a living room or a quiet study with cream, warm grey or soft white walls, where the warm bands can stand out. On deep blue walls the slate blue mist will blend in and the amber will glow. The upright format suits a narrow wall or a space beside a window.
No. They are small dark-roofed shapes grouped along the ridge, built from a few quick strokes. They read as a village from a distance, without windows or fine edges.
Quite a lot. White mist fills the spaces between the terrace ridges, so each ridge appears as a separate band of amber and orange rather than one continuous slope.
The amber and orange of the terraces lead, especially on the ridges nearest to you. The slate blue sits in the mist and shadows, and it keeps the warm tones from feeling heavy.
No figures are clearly visible. The scene is carried by the terraces, the mist and the cluster of houses under the sky.
